Job Description
We’re looking for a self-driven Design Engineer who is able to build strong relationships with stakeholders in order to provide specialist technical support to the wider Technical and Innovation Team.
This role is responsible for provision of technical, materials and pavement design services to support Hiway Group road recycling operations. You will be responsible for development and execution of ongoing operational and strategic initiatives to ensure business growth. This includes: pavement designs, construction reviews, alternative designs, technical workshops and troubleshooting, business development and tendering, as well as research and strategy development.
Role Specifics
Work closely with stakeholders to provide pavement design, material, construction, research and strategy as required to fulfil business ongoing and growth needs
Work with the Technical and Innovations team to optimise group capabilities and standards using best practice for pavement and stabilisation design and modelling
Collaborate within the professional services to advance research, strategy and business development
Contribute to development and maintenance of technical roadshows
Use Hiway technologies and industry best practice to maximise and maintain excellence within the group
Participate in innovation programme to identify opportunities and seek progress to commercialisation

Desired Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position you should have:
a degree in engineering or related discipline - those working towards chartership are highly encouraged to apply
experience in Circly 6.0 and 7.0 modelling
ability to develop technical documents with attention to detail
experience in management and delivery of complex organisational and technical tasks
passion in driving innovation and technical excellence
great communication and organisation skills with proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with stakeholders
